Patriots Cove plans Fish for the Fallen
Patriot’s Cove was established in 2017 to protect a threatened fish species, as well as, a place for caregivers, Military and First Responders veterans injured in the line of duty. We are a non-profit organization dedicated to providing a tranquil atmosphere for every outdoor enthusiast. Patriots Cove is a native brook trout sanctuary established to protect a threatened fish species, and provide a place for Veterans, First Responders as well as their Caregivers to enjoy fishing and healing in a tranquil outdoors experience.
We believe to best promote lasting healing, we must address the injuries to both the mind, body and spirit. Our program helps this process by reconnecting the individual to the tranquility of nature.
Our project goes beyond simply fishing by preserving an endangered species and surrounding wildlife. We help to show how even with physical or emotional injuries, we can still find ways to enjoy the simple things in life. Injuries can go far beyond what we see and feel. They can damage our belief in ourselves, the world around us and even a higher purpose and power. Patriots Cove works to show that each of us, regardless of our injuries, still have value and purpose; that there are still missions for all of us still needing to be completed.
Join our cause in preserving nature to give injured Veterans, First Responders, and their Caregivers a tranquil outdoor experience. Your support helps us provide an environment that fosters healing injuries of the mind, body, and spirit of our valued guests. We are planning a special event “Fish for the Fallen” on Saturday, April 14. For our morning retreat, we will be honoring both our fallen heroes as well as sharing our waterway with our first 8 participants. We are asking two: military veterans, police officers, fire-fighters, and emergency medical service members each injured in the line of duty. These brave men and women will start early that morning before the rest of the festivities. This time will give them a chance to enjoy a morning retreat with their mentor. Following fishing alongside their mentor, we will host a lunch for everyone.
We are also looking for photo’s of fallen veterans and first responders heroes lost in the line of duty for the re- volving tribute Memorial. (We are asking two: military veterans, police officers, fire-fighters, and emergency medi- cal service members.) These entries can be sent to us at any time (via our social media links) and should include at least the name and rank/title of the individual, but of course pictures are encouraged.
